GENERALITIES
Cookies Policy of deXmedio. This environment uses cookies so that our website works well, and is reliable, secure and with adequate customization options. When you accept cookies, this helps to improve the site by remembering your preferences, personalizing content or ads, and improving your experience when enjoying our content.
We also have analytics cookies to help us improve it. Using this tool sets a cookie on your device to remember your preferences.
Necessary cookies enable basic functions such as security, network management and accessibility. You can disable them by changing your browser settings, but this may affect how the website works.
Google Analytics cookies help us improve our website by collecting and reporting on how it is used. Cookies collect information in a way that does not directly identify anyone.
Most websites use cookies to collect and retain personal information about their visitors. Most cookies collect general information, such as how visitors arrive at and use our site, the device they are using, their Internet Protocol address (IP address), what pages they are viewing, and their approximate location.
The cookies we use, in general terms, correspond to the following purposes:
ACCESS
These cookies allow us to identify subscribers and ensure their special access to the portal, subscription pages, and other existing or developing spaces or services.
PERFORMANCE
We use these cookies to monitor site performance. This allows us to provide a high quality experience by quickly identifying and fixing any problems that arise. For example, we may use performance cookies to track error messages and determine navigation.
FUNCTIONALITY
We use functionality cookies to remember your preferences. For example, to provide you with enhanced services, such as allowing you to watch an online video or comment on a blog.
ANALYSIS
We use cookies to better understand our audience and the success of advertising campaigns. For example, we count article views to present “Most Read” content. We also use analytics cookies to track the number of ad impressions served for a campaign and to manage how often you see the same ads.
FRAUD PREVENTION
We use cookies to monitor and prevent suspicious activity and fraudulent traffic.
PERSONALIZATION
We use cookies to enhance your experience with our products by personalizing our Portal. For example, we help you find new content and recommend email alerts based on the topics you read. Where our Sites have such functionality, you can manage personalization features in your account.
ADVERTISING
We use cookies to serve you ads that we believe are relevant to you and your interests. You may see these ads on deXmedio and on other sites you visit. For example, if you read several articles on a certain topic, you will see more ads on that topic, as we have inferred that it is of interest to you.
THIRD PARTY COOKIES ON OUR SITE
We use third party cookies on our Portal, which are included for the following reasons:
- To help us monitor traffic on deXmedio (as we stated above and like many companies, we use Google Analytics to do this);
- to identify fraudulent or non-human traffic;
- to help with market research;
- to improve the functionality of the site;
- to monitor compliance with our policies and standards.
We use third-party cookies also for programmatic advertising purposes. This is where we sell digital advertising space through the use of some automated technology, for example, through Google Doubleclick (AdX).
These third-party cookies are used within programmatic for measurement and attribution, and frequency management. They may also be used for ad personalization based on data you have shared with third parties, to the extent you have given your consent.
Advertisers sometimes use their own cookies to measure performance and identify fraudulent or non-human traffic. To the extent you have given them your consent to do so, advertisers may also provide you with targeted advertising based on your data.
For example, advertisers may use a profile they have created on their own site or on sites you have previously visited to present you with more relevant ads during your visit to deXmedio.
Our standard advertising terms and conditions do not allow our advertisers to drop their own cookies for profiling or retargeting without your consent.
USE OF PIXELS IN EMAILS
Our emails often contain pixels and/or web beacons unique to a certain promotional, educational, communication or advertising campaign, which tells us if and how many times our emails are opened, and verifies any clicks through links or advertisements within the email.
Web beacons (sometimes called clear GIFs or web bugs) are small strings of code that allow us to place a small (usually invisible) image on the deXmedio page, or in an email sent by us.
Web beacons can recognize certain types of information on your computer, for example: cookies, the time and date a page is viewed, and a description of the page where the beacon is located. We may also use other technologies, such as Web storage and identifiers associated with your device, for similar purposes.
We use this information for purposes that include:
- Determining which of our emails are most interesting to users;
Determining users’ activity and engagement with our products and services; - Informing our advertisers (in aggregate) how many users have clicked on their ads.
- The pixel will be removed when you delete the email. If you do not want the pixel downloaded to your device, you must select to receive our emails in plain text instead of HTML through your email provider’s settings.
